Black Coral Expeditions has been running trips out of Caye Caulker, Belize since 2008. We started as a small operation built around one idea: that the best way to experience Belize’s underwater world is with a small group, a crew who knows the water, and enough time to actually dive it right.
What began as a personal obsession with the ocean grew into a full operation covering everything from the local reef to multi-day expeditions out to Lighthouse Reef and the Great Blue Hole. We know these waters — the tides, the currents, the sites that don’t show up in guidebooks, and the right time of year to dive each one.
We keep our groups small, our boats well-maintained, and our guides experienced. Every trip we run — whether it’s a two-dive morning on the local reef or a three-day overnight expedition — is run the same way: safely, thoroughly, and without rushing it.
If you want to dive Belize properly, we’re the crew to do it with.
We operate out of Caye Caulker — one of the best access points for diving in Belize. Everything we run is built around this island and the water surrounding it.
Our guides know these reefs from years of diving them — every season, every condition. You're in the water with people who have been doing this a long time and take it seriously.
We cap every trip intentionally. Smaller groups mean better diving, more attention, and a trip that moves at the right pace — not a rotation of tourists through a crowded site.
The people who run the water with you.
Captain and founder of Black Coral Expeditions. Cole has been diving and operating boats in Belize since 2008. He knows these reefs — the Blue Hole, Turneffe, the local sites — better than almost anyone running trips out of Caye Caulker.
