Some dives are about adrenaline.
Some are about sharks.
Spanish Bay is about the reef itself.
If you’re into coral, structure, and clean wall diving — this is one of the better half-day trips you can take out of Caye Caulker.
About a 1-hour boat ride out to Spanish Bay, giving you access to a section of reef that feels more open, more developed, and more alive than the closer sites.
The first thing you notice when you drop in is the wall. The reef edge falls away into deep blue, creating a vertical drop lined with hard coral formations, sponges, and sea fans moving in the current.
This is classic Belize reef structure. Clean lines. Good visibility. And space to actually move.
Along the wall you’ll typically see turtles feeding or cruising the edge, spotted eagle rays passing through the blue, and reef fish moving in and out of the coral structure.
The life here isn’t chaotic. It’s steady. Consistent.
Instead of chasing a single highlight, you’re moving along a reef system that’s healthy, structured, and constantly active. The coral here is one of the main draws — large formations, varied textures, and sections of reef that feel fully built out.
Conditions are typically moderate, making this a good dive for a wide range of experience levels. Expect depths up to 70ft and a comfortable, controlled pace throughout the trip.
We run this as a two-dive trip, giving you time to explore different sections of the area. Each dive feels slightly different depending on depth, structure, and current.
Departs: 9:00 AM · Returns: ~2:00 PM
Dive 1 — Wall section. You drop along the reef edge into the deeper structure — hard coral, sponges, sea fans, resident reef life working the current.
Dive 2 — Slightly shallower, different section of the reef. More time on the formations themselves — good for watching the coral and finding critters tucked into the structure.
Snacks and water are included. Group size runs 4–15 divers.
